Core/Trade-In Program

Viking Core Program

Turn that blue pump green. Don’t scrap. Recycle!

We often ask customers what they did with their old, retired or broken-down Viking pumps and sometimes we hear “It got thrown out” – that response hurts. Because we rebuild so many Viking pumps, we know that there is always value leftover.

Viking builds a quality pump. A pump that was engineered to be tough and work hard. We believe they almost always deserve a second chance to live on, even after they have so dutifully finished the original assignment. But enough with our sentimental ramblings. We’re willing to pay (or provide credit toward a new purchase) for your used and unwanted Viking gear pumps!

A trade-in program that takes the guess work away

Most Viking pumps that need to be replaced have lived a long, productive life and are pretty beat up after you take them offline. Then again, some times a pump is retired while still in good working condition. We offer a trade-in program for both situations.

Which one sounds more like your pump?

Pump is rough.

Not working (or barely working) when taken out of service.

Pump is OK.

Pulled from working service and expected to have good reusable parts.

Use the pricing chart below, based on the port size and material of your pump. We will pay cash or offer credit regardless of the condition or reusability of parts.

Cast Iron (124A/4124A, 125/4125, 4195, 495/895)

$50/inch

Steel Case
(123A/4123A, 493/893)

$75/inch

Stainless Steel

(127A/4127A, 4197, 897)

$100/inch

To be as fair as possible, we don’t use standardized pricing for working used pumps. If you wish to maximize the value from your trade-in, the process is easy:

  1. Ship the pump to us (we pay for shipping or arrange for pickup, in most cases)

  2. Our shop disassembles the pump, including detailed photography and documentation of the entire process.

  3. We carefully measure tolerances and clearances on every major part then inspect and grade overall condition.

  4. You are given both an estimate for what it would cost to repair/rebuild the pump (just in case) as well as a purchase price based on the useable parts. Our offer is always relative to the factory list price so the bigger or more expensive your pump, the more we can offer!

* All pricing and quotes given for our Viking core trade-in program assume a complete pump. If there are major parts missing, this may affect the price or credit we can offer.

Yes, we do offer this with other types of pumps

Of course we have a special place in our hearts for Viking – but in many cases we are happy to offer a core value, especially if you are purchasing a pump from us. Given the wide variety of pump types and applications, it’s tough to have a program for everything. Please contact us to discuss your old or unwanted pump and let’s go green together!
